Lawd, really I don't know the answer to this

I know there are others here on VJ who have had to travel to different consulates to interview, I will do a search and see if I find anything similar, tho in 3 years I have not seen the situation through Kingston, so it may be best to e-mail the embassy again and ask. :bonk:

I would also reconsider scheduling her to fly out the same day unless you can get her a night flight... there is no telling how long the interview will take, and she will have to go back to the hotel to get her luggage and then get to the airport at least 2 hours before flight time...

If it must be same day, I would not fly her out before 5pm to be safe...

let me see if I can find any threads about this situation.

You might want to try having your fiance contact the US Consular Agent in Grand Cayman - Maybe they can answer the question for her -

Morning Mike,

In your email can you ask the embassy if it's possible to have them deliver the passport to her address or DHL office in the Caymans. I'm not even sure if they deliver there but you can ask. Good Luck.

That's true didn't think of that :bonk: -- don't know why I was thinking she could travel without it...can she travel with some other form of travel documents to the caymans. Mike did you hear from the embassy yet.

Hi Mike, a friend of mine from Jamaica just emailed me the information below... but he also said what sus and JA Princess suggested. The information was sent to a friend of his who is also living/working in the Caymans and has an interview at the embassy next month. Not sure if it helps....

Expedited appointments & processing

Expedited processing usually means that the visa will be printed and available for the applicant to pick up in about 1-2 business days. Please keep in mind that the US Embassy does not print visas for same day pickup.

General Visa Processing & Print Time Guidelines:

Visa processing times vary based on a wide variety of factors, but current standard times are as follows:

Normal visa processing times: one to four business days.

Visa print times: one to two business days.

Visa delivery times: one day for Kingston deliveries; two days for Jamaican deliveries outside of Kingston; three to four days for Cayman deliveries. Normal visa processing times: one to four business days.

Expedited visa combined processing and print times: one to two business days

I got the answer!

Dear Madam

If your visa is approved we will ask you to send us back the passport via a courier service when you go back to Cayman.
