I am a us citizen that just graduated from medical school. I want to bring my fiance from Nepal over here. Currently i have no job just because i just graduated. My dads a doctor and my moms a lead software programmer so money is not a problem. My mom or my dad has agreed to sponsor my fiance with the I-134 form. Is that OK? or it must be ONLY me who is providing the affidavit for my fiance? I have no income so putting my name on the affidavit is point less. My mom/dad was just going to sponsor her as a daughter in law. Any problems?

Your mother or father can by all means sponsor your fiancé.

Barring any issues we're not aware of, it doesn't sound like you have any problems at all.

So just a single affidavit from either of my parents with the relationship to the beneficiary as : daughter in law, would be enough? Wouldn't We have to be married for her to be "daughter in law?" In other words what should my parents fill in on (relationship to the sponsor) on form i-134.

You as petitioner must submit an I-134. You are the primary sponsor regardless of income. Without your I-134 there will never be a visa issued. Not quite the pointless exercise you thought it was,

For the parent's I-134 the relationship should be future daughter in law.

Do some reading of the form instructions, along with the discussion forums and the Guides here on VJ to learn what is expected in the process.

Best of luck.

Thanks a lot for the help guys. So pretty much the bottom line is, when the time comes after I get my petition accepted. Regardless if i have a job or not, i have fill out affidavit of support as primary sponsor. However my parents can Co sponsor me with another affidavit of support with relationship (future daughter in law). They wont reject the visa because i don't have income?

Thanks for the help, i can't really find much info regarding this type of situation. As in, I have no income, but my parents are willing to sponsor COMPLETELY...

Very common set of circumstances. One parent (individually) will be the joint sponsor. They will complete the I-134 and supply all needed supporting documentation as will you, the primary sponsor, with your I-134.

IMO, the correct relationship to sponsor is "Son's Fiancee". It hasn't happened here but often this is done bass akwards, as in "Fiancee's father". The beneficiary is not their own fiancee's father. good.gif
