Incredible & tragic. Sorry to hear you are going through such a terrible journey.

However.... there is hope! Many of us make some wrong turns in life and find ourselves down a dark alley. You can find your way out and your journey will improve in amazing ways. First, trust your gut & use your head regarding that guy from this point on. Be strong. You are right... your daughter (and you) deserve better! Pursue divorce with all the energy & focus you can muster! If there are ways to have that guy prosecuted (without consumming too much of your valuable time and without too much financial burden) then by all means go after him.

Next thing is.... forgive yourself. You made a mistake - we all make mistakes. Don't beat yourself up over & over again. Move on and realize that you were conned by a criminal and leave him in your rear-view mirror.... soon he will be a tiny speck and you will be looking & moving forward - and raising a beautiful daughter. Good things can come out of bad situations. Life is funny that way. Tough sometimes too.

Best wishes to you.

I am so sorry this is happening to you - be strong and keep the faith!

- Somewhere between heartaches and waiting comes the chance to be found by someone who can show you that you don't have to be just an Option, but the only CHOICE-

I am so thankful for everyone here... I really wish you all knew how much. I just got an email back from the immigration consulate, they want me to call them. I know who read my email.. and she was so helpful.. and she tried so hard for me. How embrassing. I am going to call her tomorrow.. then I know this is over. Truly I am looking forward to the closure. But in the same breath.. I am so sad that it's come to this. I so loved him.. stupid man. I hope that ..lil miss.. my nickname for our girl.. will understand one day. I will let you know how tomorrow goes.. I am glad you guys were here.

There's some dutchies here, so just ask away.

edit: closure is good, goodluck with it.

K.. he said that without an address he cant get work.. I want to remind you that he is Belgium.. cause he was born there.. until he was a 1yr old. Has lived in the Netherlands since.. He says that he cant' get his social money cause he was out of the country to long.. ( over 6 months) He says that he can't open a bank account cause.. he brought some insurance that if he lost his job that it would cover it? But when he lost his job.. they didn't so now he owes 25.000 euros to a Bank there.. He wont tell me what bank... so he can't put a home in his name or get work or open a bank account.. something about that doesnt add up to me.

That he can't work because he doesn't have an address doesn't make sense. There must be more to the story. I don't have an address either. Well, I live with my mom but I'm not on her mortage or on any housing contract. If you apply for a job, the only thing they want is this ID number and a mailing address. You can use whatever address you live at.

However, think about all the tourists that work in Amsterdam. Like back packers. The Netherlands isn't that hard if you are looking for a job!! We have a lot of Polish people who are working here looking for a better life.

An other thing. He said that he owes an Insurance Company money because he lost his job?? The same company that would pay him money when he lost his job? Is it like a welfare he was talking about? If he had a welfare and worked without telling them, yes, then you have to pay back every single dime they paid him while he was illegally working.

That he can't open a bank account? That is BS, all you need is your ID!! And most of the time you have to pay like 7 euro's to open an account (administration fee).

And about housing.. that is BS too.. You can also rent a room in big cities! It's not going thru a real estate but by the owner of the house.

If he has debts, he will be registered thru BKR. This is a company that whenever you don't pay back your debts, they will make it hard for you to buy a house or whatever (bad credits). But online he can look for people who are looking for a house mate. Atleast he'll have a roof above his head.

It doesn't really add up at all. But like I said, there must be more to the story

I wasn't sure where to post this... so I posted under the type of Visa we were applying for. Admin can move if needed. Sorry.. This relationship has been the fairy tale and nightmare all in one. I now believe that the nightmare began, cause it was all #######. I can't believe I am writing this. I can't believe what I have been through for this man.. and now to find an email to another woman. That he was fired from yet another job.. so now he was going to give America a try. I fought so hard for this marriage.. I loved him so much. How blind!!! Apparently my husband appears to be an international .. gig·o·los ... definition - 1. A man who has a continuing sexual relationship with and receives financial support from a woman. Unbelieveable!! The chats.. the web cams.. the emails.. the naked photos.. the missing of every woman he came in contact with... never stopped. We were newly weds.. yes going through immigration. So of course we didn't have the ideal wedding cause of course he was being deported.. (don't jump on that!) Cause there is a long story about it.. and looking back now.. I was so in love and stupid.

I just found all of this.. I knew in my gut.. something was wrong. But we think.. nooooo... can't be. Thats just crazy thinking. NOPE. Wrong again.

We got all the way to the interview.. and WOW.. did the bones start flying out of the closet. Criminal, domestic, burglery.. unbelieveable. I hung in there. Thinking.. well we will get through. But when I found that he was chatting with other women, telling them that he missed them.. kisses.. naked photos.. emails.. chat sites.. Before during and after. I am still in shock. All because of faith and trust. The starting of such a wonderful fairy tale and turned into investing retirement, plane tickets, jeopordizing my career, spending money to support him, cutting corners to be able to send him money, all this.. and having a NOW 4 month old child.. god bless my soul.

I am bitter.. yes I am! I believe this is fraud. NOW.. I truly believe that. And Now I have sent an email to the consulate asking for them to stop the process, and how to get my originals back.. and I want to know how to proceed with legal avenues. DO I? or Dont I? That's the question. enough said for now. What do you think?

WOW! I am so sorry for your situation. The important thing is that you look back and make note of all the lessons learned for the sake of your daughter.

I must ask, without opening a can of worms, did you raise a red flag when you saw the bones flying out of the closet at the interview? I hope this is a lesson for all of us: there's a reason why we go thru background checks, etc. I wish they'd do this for EVERYONE (USC or foreigner) before getting married. Look how many domestic violence cases are in the USA. Not to mention, the collateral damage: the children! I am not saying this is your case at all.

You could probably get an annullment; I'm not sure. Stay away from him!

Good luck!

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

- Was he legally in Holland? if not, no wonder he couldn't get social security. Being out of the country for too long won't matter at all.

- It all sounds like he has no ID, which means no work/bank account.

- He says he can't work, but he owes a bank 'cos he lost his job, so he did work?

Lotsa halfass excuses if you ask me.
