Are Biometrics Walk-Ins ok???

Hey guys!! My husband and I live in Oakland,CA. He just received his Biometrics appointment letter in the mail for both his I-485 and I-765. His appointment is stated to be scheduled on August 03, 2011, which is not until 3 weeks from now. Now my question is, has anyone in my area(BAY AREA)done a biometrics walk-in?? I have read in several posts that some people have been successful with this. Only thing, none of the ones I read were in our area, so i'm not sure how strict California USCIS Office is with these appointment letters. We really want to do this as soon as possible. My husband is bored out of his mind at home not being able to work, so we just really want to get his EAD already. If anyone has done this in San Francisco/Oakland area and was successful with biometrics Walk-ins, please let me know. My husband and I would greatly appreciate it. THANKS in advance =)

October 14, 2009: Sent I-129F via Fedex
October 19, 2009: NOA1 received
January 11, 2010: NOA2 received (email)
January 12, 2010: NOA2 received (hard copy)
January 14, 2010: NVC letter mailed
January 16, 2010: NVC letter received
February 08, 2010: Embassy Letter received
March 16, 2010: Scheduled Medical Exam (PASSED!!!)
April 19, 2010: Interview date (Received MNL-IV-22; white slip)
July 09, 2010: Submitted police clearance (Received another white slip)
November 03, 2010: Resubmitted new I-134 (now it's the waiting game once again!!)
November 09, 2010: Received letter from USEM stating we need an updated medical.
November 24, 2010: Medical exam once again
December 14, 2010: VISA on hand via Air21 (We're APPROVED!! YAY!!)
April 05, 2011: SFO International Airport (POE)
April 14, 2011: Applied for Marriage License
May 17, 2011: Got Married =)
June 20, 2011: Mailed in I-485, I-131, and I-765 via Fedex
June 22, 2011: I-485 package received at USCIS via Fedex Online Tracking
June 24, 2011: Received application receipt number via USCIS text
July 11, 2011: Received Appointment Notice for I-485 and I-765 in the mail.
August 03, 2011: Biometrics Appointment done on scheduled date
August 15, 2011: Received notice of EAD card production VIA text
August 22, 2011: Received EAD card in mail.
September 02, 2011: Applied for Social Security(Received card in mail Sept. 10)
September 16, 2011: AOS interview(passed!! YAY!!)
September 24, 2011: Received GC in the mail =)

August 16, 2013: Sent I-751 via USPS Priority Express

August 17, 2013: I-751 delivered to California Service Center via USPS Tracking

August 21, 2013: Check Cashed

August 23, 2013: Received I-751 Receipt Notice in the mail

August 28, 2013: Received Biometrics Appointment Letter in the mail

December 13, 2013: Case status update via text: Production of new card has been ordered

December 18, 2013: Green card mailed via USPS

December 21, 2013: Green Card on hand. YAY!!!

Go to the USCIS website and find the closest USCIS Servicing Office to you. Call them and ask if they accept walk ins. All they can say is no, but

there is no harm in trying. Just a suggestion.

05/17/2010 – Petition mailed to USCIS via certified return receipt.
05/27/2010 – NOA1 issued
06/03/2010 – Touch/NOA1 hard copy received in US Mail
10/27/2010 – 5 month mark
10/28/2010 – Spoke to USCIS representative – 'still pending'
11/04/2010 – Spoke to USCIS representative – 'still pending', but service request generated
11/05/2010 – Notified that background checks are not complete - looks like we're in for a looong wait...
12/07/2010 – Received email notification of NOA2
12/16/2010 – NVC sent the case to Embassy in Malawi
02/28/2011 – Interview
03/14/2011 – VISA APPROVED!
05/04/2011 – Fiance and I came back to the U.S. together! smile.png
07/01/2011 – Married!

AOS
07/02/2011 – I-485 packet mailed to USCIS via certified return receipt.
07/06/2011 – Packet accepted.
07/07/2011 – Check cashed and NOA1 issued.
07/22/2011 – Received biometrics letter.
07/29/2011 – Biometrics completed (walk-in)
08/23/2011 – EAD Approved
08/31/2011 – EAD card arrived in the mail.
09/12/2011 – AOS interview - APPROVED! GC production ordered
09/21/2011 – Green Card received!!!

Removal of Conditions

06/13/2013 - I-751 packet mailed to USCIS via certified return receipt.

06/17/2013 - NOA issued

06/19/2013 - Check cashed

06/21/2013 - Received NOA in mail.

06/26/2013 - Received biometrics letter.

07/02/2013 - Biometrics completed (walk-in)

11/18/2013 - APPROVED! Card production ordered
