I wonder if anyone can help me clarify things...so I already got the NOA2 for both of my parents but looking through everyones timeline it seems like they got their case numbers from NVC pretty quick. Does NVC mail you something or they e-mail you? Just wondering since it's been a couple of weeks and I'm not sure if it should take that long...thanks!!!

Have you call NVC????? You have to be proactive and keep calling until they give you your parents case number. Then you just started a new stage and more papers in NVC. Read the guides, you are going to need to know about the process to be ready

If you say be proactive, does that mean speaking with an operator when I call them? I've been calling but I haven't tried the option of speaking with an operator. I'm totally lost with the process. I can't find anyone with a step by step experience in terms of petitioning parents.:blink:

Petitioning parents is the same process as IR-1/CR-1. Follow the guides and the Wiki. My case took about 2 weeks to get to NVC. You have to start to collect the documents for I-864 and the civil documents. Also check NVC website for documents for your country and the Phillippinnes Embassy website.
