I thought the same thing but to be on the safe side I e-mailed the embassy before going to my interview and they told me to bring a valid police record. So I did. It was one of the first things they asked for.

So, how would you go about obtaining the unavailable police report? Did they tell you that too? DOS has recently updated this part of their website. If a police report is available, this is where you go to learn how to obtain it.

They are not really unavailable. You can request it with no problems at the main Nicaragua Police office. My interview was in October of last year and back then it said unavailable, and it still says unavailable now.

I read somewhere (not gov site - can't remember exactly where) that this was due to the record being valid for only 60 days and that's why it wasn't required at NVC stage but it was required for the interview. Perhaps this should be clearly specified in the DOS website. I've been letting other Nicaraguan beneficiaries know about this since the only way I found out was by e-mailing the embassy.

So, is this mentioned in written instructions from the Consulate at any stage? Note that typically Consulates ignore expiration dates on police certificates. As a practical matter, the certificates only cover the time up to the issue date, so any crimes committed after that date are, well, after that date. What's the difference between the usefulness of a Chinese or Philippines police certificate issued six months ago and an expired Nicaraguan certificate issued 90 days ago? Nothing. Strange how some Consulates' policies make no sense. There's even one that won't accept an "expired" birth certificate. What's to expire?

The embassy's website has been updated and they have included the Police Record requirement. At the time of my interview it wasn't listed but I found out via e-mail exchange with them.

And yes, some policies get quite confusing. So in this case, I was suggesting the OP to get a new Police Record just in case the one sent to the NVC has expired. IMO, it's better to be safe than sorry. The record is very cheap and it takes about 7 business days.

Well thanks for all your reply We will get a new police report

but still don´t have answers for the processing fee In Nicaragua.

I know about the MEDICAL fees...there is any other?

The visa application fee of $404 has already been paid. If there's a fee at the consulate it would be for no more than a nominal delivery fee for the visa package.
