85 Days on Visa Waiver Program

I am from Australia and will be travelling to the USA to stay with a friend late this month until early october. (around 85 days). I have a return ticket, travel insurance for the period I am away and about $9,000 in a travel-visa-card plus emergency funds in a normal visa card. I have filled out an esta and was approved instantly and provided the address of the friend I am staying with in the esta.

I have never visited the usa before, we simply decided she will let me stay with her for a holiday and then next year I will let her stay with me for a holiday in australia, to keep our costs down :)

My question is, seeming I have a return ticket, sufficient fund's and travel insurance for the period im staying, is it likely that the POE officers will hassle me because I am staying with a friend and for 85 days not a week or two? I dont see why they would... but I would like to have all the information before I go... would be horrible to be flagged at port, considering the huge airfares to the USA from Australia...

Probably not, but to keep the chances down, can you travel with ties to Aus like an employment letter or a lease/mortgage?
