eyeglasses for Medical

I think I read on here that I need to bring a pair of glasses with me to Dr Seiden's medical if I wear contacts, is that true? I don't have any, and really don't want to go to the expense of buying any if I can get away without it. I wear contact lenses night and day, for a month at a time, then put in a new pair, I think my glasses are about 12 years old and several prescriptions ago. Hoping to find someone on here that has gone through this themselves, rather than having to buy eyeglasses that I will likely never use, not to mention the fee for the visit for the prescription!

I had my medical done in Vancouver and they said the same thing so I brought mine but didn't need them because I had my contacts in. They give you an eye exam there which is just reading the eye chart, I had contacts in and no one ever asked about my glasses. I would think it would be the same there.

They didn't even check my eyes.. Just tell them you wear contacts, that should be fine enough if they ask!

I wear glasses and they never even mentioned them at Dr. Seiden's. They didn't do an eye exam, and from reading recent experiences from other VJers on here they didn't check their eyes, either.

I know my experience isn't universal, but when I went a couple weeks ago they did the following:

Specialist did:

chest x ray

Nurses did:

height and weight

took a blood sample

blood pressure

pulse

breast exam

checked pelvis (not a pap- they literally just pulled back the sheet and looked for an instant, I think just to check that you're the sex you say you are, or something)

The doctor did:

abdominal exam

listened to lungs/heart

asked questions regarding medical history

vaccination sheet

And that was it! :)

Yup, same here. I'm pretty blind without my glasses and they didn't even ask me about them.

I had my medical in Montreal last week. I need reading glasses but never used them except to flll out a form. Just read an eye chart. Dr went over my medical history, listened to chest, looked at breasts for 2 secs, looked in ears and throat and poked my belly. Nurse took blood, read eye chart, height and weight, went for two pics for chest exray and that was all. No checking sex or anything. Didn't need any immunizations. I had taken blood tests with me to show for measles and mumps and chickenpox, they didnt' even want those.
