Wrong US Embassy?!

Hello!

So my fiance and I just received our NOA2 on June 22, and as we were going over the next steps in the visa process, we realized that the US Embassy that we wrote on our I-129F form is wrong. We put down the US Embassy in Belfast, Northern Ireland which is right by where he lives, but it turns out that they do not handle immigration visas such as the K1. So he will actually have to go to the US Embassy in London, UK

Does anyone have any advice? Will the embassy in Belfast automatically forward it to London? Should we call the embassy in Belfast to tell them to forward it once they receive it? or...

Should we wait for the visa to be sent to the National Visa Center and call them and tell them our big "oops"? Or should I call the VSC where it was currently processed and try to fix this all before they send it out to the NVC??

What a mess... and a waste to make my fiance go all the way to London when Belfast is just down the road. Grrrrr! Sorry for the many, many questions!

NVC should sort this out automatically. They won't forward it somewhere that doesn't do such things. They know where to send it :-)

Be prepared: the medical is in London too. So might have to make two trips. Although sometimes people still seem to manage to combine the interview and medical: but don't bet on it.

If the phone calls aren't costing you a lot then I suggest you make the calls. Can't hurt. Sometimes it just depends on who you talk to.
