Work Permission at POE

A friend of mine married a Moroccan 3 years ago and apparently his visa got stamped with a work permission at his POE which was JFK airport. Does anyone know what this is all about? Can you only get it at certain airports? Will my fiance be able to get this at the Mexican American border by Juarez and El Paso?

My friend's Morroccan husband is now a manager and has offered my fiance a job immediately if he can just get that special stamp. This would be wonderful but I don't know if they still do this, and at what point can he request it??

Anyone know anything? Thanks!

yup JFK was about it, however three years ago and today are two different things... no longer done as the stamp is not/ no longer valid for a K-1

mm ok. That stinks! In talking with my friend about the whole process, we discovered a few other things that are being done differently now too. That's too bad. Thanks for the info, and hey, at least my fiance already has a job offer for once he gets his Green Card.

suggest you study the documentation requirements for the I-9 form, instead of chasing after an EAD stamp at a POE.

Even with that EAD stamp AND A SSN, you don't meet the requirements on the I-9 - you'll need to have in hand, at least, the EAD card issued after filing the AOS packet.

The I-9 form has changed up a bit since yer moroccan friend hit the border, suggest you study that I-9, soonish, as his concept of putting you to work immediately 'with that stamp' will put him in the position of you being an illegal worker at his company.

Do Dig In on the I-9, though, have a look at it, read the instructions.

Ok thanks for the info and terminology, I'm still not very knowledgable yet about the whole AOS process. That's my next task.
