can have a co-sponser or joint sponser - they fill out the I-134 as well - so that's 2 I-134's - one on yer fiance(e, another on the joint or co-sponser.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi, its petitioner now(Becky): I was thinking of putting my brother, he earns like 52k a year but after child support it drops to like 40k. But he also was telling me something about IRS. So it drops again from 40k to like 34k after tax I think. He was telling me something about IRS. Apart from that, he said if it doesn't affect his IRS issue than he would have no problem to be the sponsor for my fiance. I don't know if my brother would be a good sponsor. He is the only one willing to sign the form. I have a lot of family that will help financially but they are not willing to sign the I-134 with me. Only my brother.

When I asked my mother if she can be the sponsor, she said she couldn't because she is sponsor of her brother in law from 2 years ago. Is it possible that she can be sponsor? Even though she filled Sponsor for someone else? What if I get 2 jobs? A full time and a part time job, would that help?

Becky, this is Brandon (lol)

You look at the AGI on your brother's return. Which is line 38. That is the number that matters.

As for an additional job, It would help as long as it puts you over the minimum poverty line.

Your brother's 'expenses' may not affect the affidavit of support - he may need to count the child/children as part of his household size (this may depend on how he files his taxes) - I can't speak to the 'IRS' thing - sounds like a garnishment - not 100% certain how this is viewed (if it is viewed at all).

When I asked my mother if she can be the sponsor, she said she couldn't because she is sponsor of her brother in law from 2 years ago.

Yes - it is possible - the other person/immigrant would need to be counted in her household size.

What if I get 2 jobs? A full time and a part time job, would that help?

It would/could, yes - assuming you get over the minimum and have this employment for a good number of months (some folks say at least 6-months, but this may depend on each person's history)

Read the instructions for the I-864. They only use AGI if you filed a 1040EZ. Otherwise, they use total income, which is line 22 on a 1040.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Hello. It's Petitioner(Becky) I was reading about 3 forms I-134, I-864 and I-864A. I read that I-864A is for sponsor living in the same household. is that right? USCIS website keeps crashing for me so I looked it up in forums. In my case, sponsor doesn't live with me. I know I have to fill out the I-134 even if I don't meet the income requirement but, Do sponsor and I fill out 2 separate I-864?or just the sponsor fills out the I-864? Does the sponsor have to fill out I-134 also? Thanks
