Girlfriend is in China, near Beijng

Hi all. I am new to this site. I met my girlfriend online in February and we have talked on skype and/or yahoo messenger everyday since. We have so much in common and have grown to care about each other very much. I will be going to China to spend 12 days with her in early August. She has read that it's hard to pass the K1 consulate interview if you are in China but from what I have read, the approval rate is pretty high. Does anyone have experience they could share with us about having a fiancee in China. I am a US citizen and I will apply for a K1 visa to bring her to the US to marry me once I return from my visit there.

I strongly you suggest visit Candle for Love. There are many members there waho are knowledgeable about both the K-1 and CR-1 visa in China.

Candle for Love is a China specific forum. The general consensus I have seen from posters there is that it is inadvisable to file after the first visit. No one is outright saying not to file after only one visit, they are saying that filing after only one visit tends to make CO's more skeptical of the relationship.

I met a girl from China online and went to visit her in Guangzhou for 17 days laste December. We filed a K-1 on Feb. 10. She should have the P3 packet any day now and so I'll expect our interview to come up in August. My second visit to China will be for the interview. I'll let you know how it goes.

Make sure and get at least 5 pictures together while you are there. I only have two and it's got me a little worried. I didn't realize I should have been collecting evidence on my vacation.

Fang and I got the k1 visa approved with 10 months, 2 visits, and 6 photos all together. It may have been a borderline case because the VO asked a lot more questions than I have normally seen posted. I put all of the questions that Fang could remember in the consulate review section.

I leave in two weeks to go visit Mary for the first time. I will be sure to take many pics. I am happy for you two that you got your K1 visa. Mary is a non-active member of the CCP so I expect that will slow us down some but I still have hope that we will get a K1 visa.
