K-1 Passport Style Photo

I have EVERYTHING ready to send off my K-1 Visa application - except for my fiance's passport.

She's a Mexican, and Its been tough for her to make an appointment to get her Mexican passport.

I know that the K-1 Visa requires a passport-style photo, but do I necessarily NEED to include

a copy of her passport? Does she even need a Mexican passport?

Well, she will need a passport when she goes to the Consulate/Embassy (and later to enter the US).

Is there another document which is issued to Mexican citizens (only) that can serve as ID?

What you need is her 2"x2" photo. You don't need to include a copy of her passport. By now they just need her passport-style photos. She need to send you just that. With her name on the back. I don't understand why are you saying if she needs having a Mexican Passport

I've just seen other people include a copy of their fiance's passport photo in the K-1 application - but I never read that it was required.

Was just trying to clear this up because if it helps the application approval process, I will go ahead and get it. Otherwise we could take

our time on getting her Mexican passport.

I suppose she will eventually need one after the K-1 has been approved.

You don't need to submit copies of her passport in order to submit the Fiance(e) visa petition. You will need an statement from her saying that she is free and willing to marry you, the biographical info, and passport PICTURES of her. No copy of her passport is needed at this point. She will need to have her passport by the time she gets her interview (months down the line).

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

You need to include a passport photo of the beneficiary for the G-325A. People may send copies of the passport to show entry stamps as evidence of meeting but it is not required at this stage (I-129F).
