This has to be the mother's idea in all of this. No real man would want his male child to be like that.

Granted, in the age of Metro-Sexuals and feminine men, I guess this is to be expected. I just find it hard to swallow that any guy could allow his son to be treated this way. No one said the kid has to play football, but he should enjoy being outdoors, riding bikes, playing in the dirt, etc.

Part of the problem with society today is the Rush term "Chickification" of it. It's ridiculous at times. Being a man isn't just about being macho, it's also about responsibility. It we know one thing about today's society is that it's not responsible at all. It's this nanny state/motherhood mentality. I can't say anything more without sounding overly sexist, but timelines don't lie either. Of course the problem isn't what you think it is, it's the caving in and not being rational about things that is.

In a society where we are relying on each other to do his role, a role that doesn't cause the rest of us harm, we need a 'take responsibility' attitude. That's something we have lacked for quite a long time now.

Did you ever catch your son playing with toys that weren't made for boys?

I started my boys shooting shotguns designed for women. The shorter stocks and lighter weight helped them to be accomplished shooters years younger than if they waited to grow into a man's gun. One of them frequently carries a S&W "Ladysmith" in .32 H&R Mag with rosewood grips, titanium frame, lightweight revolver as his concealed carry handgun. I have no problem with it, though I wish it didn't have the laser engraved "Ladysmith" on the frame...could be embarrassing. Best to keep it concealed.
