Egypt prepares for a booster shot of rage

Egyptian pro-democracy groups are calling for a second round of so-called “rage” protests on May 27 because of a lack of political progress and perceived failure to prosecute members of former President Hosni Mubarak’s regime.

The protests are proposed by several groups including Six of April Youth, which helped organize the first of a series of protests on Jan. 25 that led to Mubarak’s departure in February. Demonstrators will demand speedy trials for members of the former regime, the dissolution of municipal councils and establishment of a 50-member committee to advise Egypt’s ruling military council, Mohamed Adel, spokesman for the group, said.

“We see the need to continue the revolution because the real symbols of the former regime have not been held accountable yet,” Adel said. “We also want the military to approve forming a committee that represents groups like us for consultation on governance in order to add a civil element that keeps the revolution’s goals in sight.”

I have an Egyptian friend (whose father left Egypt many years ago so she is mostly Americanized but still speaks Arabic)

who she says that Egypt's problems are far from over and that getting rid of Mubarak won't solve the problems of

corruption etc. that stem from the fact that the army owns practically everything in the country.

The former regime rooted problems to Egypt, economically and politically that will take Egypt years to recover from, they were only working for their own benefit like they owned the country, we should start by taking all of the regime symbols to trial but that never happened to Mubarak who is 84 years old and still "Sick" at the hospital in sharm el Sheik and they dropped charges off his wife after giving up her fortune which they said was only 20 million pounds (4 million dollars) which is ridiculous of course.

I trust the army not because we have no choice but have them rule the country right now but because, through out the revolution they have proven that they're on the people's side and even when Mubarak stepped down, he didn't announce it himself, it was announced by the Intelligence chief, so i thought the Army probably forced Mubarak to step own cause they were not willing to harm their own people as what is happening in Syria or Libya now for example.
