I have an interview in June,after approval and us entry can i go to mexico

do i have to wait in the us for my green card before i can travel to another country????

my husband and i want to go to mexico to celebrate our anniversary in July,am i allowed to leave the us without the actual green card in hand.

If you enter via a CR1 visa you will have a stamp in your passport that will serve as a temp GC, until the actual card arrive. You can leave and re-enter the US using this stamp. Becareful going to Mexico as a tourist, but enjoy your trip.
