Trying to pay for the interview at a BPI branch in Cebu, the US embassy says they will accept the passport as long as not expired but nobody will accept the payment at the BPI branch...anyone else with this issue?? will there be an issue with St Luke accepting the green passport? any info would be appreciated. thank you.

Ok looks like St Luke's will accept and depends which BPI branch you call.....not everyone on the same page with green passport, but seems we found one that will accept.

Good to come across this post. I did not know about it. I'm here in Manila and will pay the visa fee next week. The green passport has let me in and out the country the past year and so why would they not take it.

It will be ok as long as your green passport will not expire 6 months or so after visa is issued. Some BPI banks seem to be hesitant to allow payment fearing they will be in trouble with the US embassy, but the payment will be accepted even with green passport. So if you are having trouble with a BPI bank try another one. Ours was accepted and also it will be accepted for the medical in manila. good luck to all!

Hmmm I still have a green passport too and it will expire april 2012.. will this be an issue too..wow they are strange..

No issue, but some BPI banks might not accept payment, but the green passport with an April 2012 expiration date is fine.

I called the US embassy and they took my info as to which branch would not accept and was going to contact them, everything is ok as we paid at another branch. Good Luck!
