Timeline

My wife and baby girl got to the embassy at 7am, much earlier than our appointed time 9am. There was already a long line of people already. Those with babies got to cut to the front of the line, ahead of the elderly too which is kind of wrong.

When my wife got to the counter, she spotted the pink paper in plain sight. She already knew, at which point she was already getting excited. She opted to use a 'dich vu' service that put all our evidences into several booklets with their endorsements. Only my latest 1040 was taken, the rest was returned. I did my taxes this year joint filing with my wife's ITIN.

I'd say I did a decent job putting the paperwork together. Not the greatest, for example my I-864 I only included 3 years tax transcripts and a very vague employment letter not saying how much I've made, only that I'm currently working. I was unemployed for a while so I didn't include any pay stubs when I submitted to NVC. Of course, I provided these to my wife to bring to the interview but it wasn't taken nor photocopied. I guess tax transcripts do carry a lot of weight.

We passed, as well as the others carrying little ones. Anyways I'll be flying there on the 18th for two weeks of bouncing back-and-forth between our separate home towns, visiting relatives for the last goodbyes. She's from Buon Me Thuot and I'm from Rach Gia, we've definitely racked up some Vietnam Airline miles the past 2 years of our history together.

I'm looking forward to reading more good news from everyone else the coming weeks. Just keep your paperwork organized, know what you have and where it is, don't take too much of the interviewers time. There was somebody there that got yelled at for being disorganized. My wife wasn't there long enough to know the outcome of this particular person.

Awesome news. So happy for you. Well, Fiona and I will be the next interview up. I'm trying to find a way to export all of our text messages from my iphone so she can print out and take to the interview. Any ideas? I've tried a few things but it looks like I may have to part with $20 for software to do it.

Go to this website: http://www.thebeatlesforever.com/processtext/

There is a program out there call "ABC Amber" and it is free. I downloaded that program to retrieve and display text messages on our phones. The program is very useful, it even creates a nice report in different format like PDF, Words, Excel and others.

It also depends on what kind of phone you got also or you can try another free program call "Bitpim" http://www.bitpim.org/

Even easier. Just self take the iphone texts by pressing the 'home button' and "power button"-top right at the same time. scroll through only a few that u think that are significants and take pictures of them. Upload them to your computer and that's it. Good luck.

Only it doesn't really show who is talking to who. I really would like to have a text file showing in/out from her number or mine with the conversation. Someone here at work says they know how to do it.

By the way, that is pretty cool that you can do what you described above.

If your fiance has an iphone have her do the same thing. Drag all to microsoft word and lay them side by side. Make them even smaller so u can put more into one page
