Our interview was at 8am today but we arrived around 5 minutes before 8. We didn't have to wait in line outside because my wife was in a wheelchair. The guards let us through one of the front doors. Got inside and we had to get a number. Ours was 5007. They called our number to window 4 to submit the medical records and my daughter's crba. Then we had to wait til they call us again for the interview. There was alot of people and it wasn't moving as quickly as I expected but my wife was finally called to window 9. Even though they didn't let me stand close by but I was close enough to hear alot of the questions they asked. Well all and all we got the PINK!!!

thanks everyone.. they also found my luggage!! I have to say that this is one lucky day!! Time to buy a lottery ticket!! I'll be picking up my wife's visa on the 18th of this month but sad to say she won't be coming back to the states with me. She has to stay back to do some physical therapy for her injury and hopefully in a few months she'll be able to come over. But I'm able to take my daughter back with me this time.:dance:

yea no rush...i'll be here until at least the 3rd of next month.

the CRBA was surprisingly easy! we came early for our 2:30pm appt and didn't have to wait in line as this was a US citizen matter. saw a few other babies in that section also doing CRBA. the viet pre-screener gave me some attitude as i didn't know i was supposed to give them everything at once (originals/copies, proofs, documents, photos, etc) and they would sort them. she asked how many times i've been back...if i had kept airplane tix? no didn't keep them....where are all the visas? don't have them VN takes them every time i leave. this was going badly. how long i've been in the USA, if i have petitioned for the child's mother, asked for my SSN...then i was told to wait.

luckily the american CO was very pleasant and cordial. asked me if i had an interview date for the K-1 petition, asked if i knew i had to support the child until 18...and that was it! had me sign the documents. while waiting for my fiancee to be done in the bathroom he asked if she had the old passport to match up with my trip to cambodia last year...she didn't even have that but he saw the pics and assumed it was the same trip. the american CO part took no more than 2-3 minutes of informal talking. he said should take about a month to get the passport.

Awesome news! Congrats!

My friend just finished the CRBA process in HCMC. From the time they submitted the documents until the time he got an email saying the passport was ready was about 3 weeks. His fiancee is going to HCMC today to pick up the passport, and then she's going to look into getting the exit visa. They're doing CRBA's pretty quickly right now.

chuc mung!

I must have had the CRBA case from h*ll, it took 4 months at the point which I had to ask for it by email. At the 3rd month I actually had my bro-in-law drop by to check with a response 'when it's ready we'll contact'. On the other hand we had this done well in advance so it never really mattered how long it took.

My wife will be carrying our baby girl 7 months old, I'm wondering if that's enough to skip the line outside the embassy.
