Are you kidding me?

"Take Iraqi oil".

That sounds trite and simplistic but in reality it is a return to the most conservative of western beliefs. The belief that the resources of the rest of the world belong to the west, that the rest of the world is there for the plunder. It is a continuation of a long and proud tradition of colonialism by other great western powers in the past. It is the conservative answer to our loss of prosperity, not all this new-agey free market #######.

"Take Iraqi Oil" is trite. It completely discounts the fact that the oil contracts on Iraqi oil have long since been negotiated. Either Trump is an idiot and doesn't realize that, or he is insinuating he is willing to go to war with China over oil contracts. Either way, that is an abject failure of epic proportion from a policy standpoint. I applaud his bravado, but that needs to be tempered with some common sense and intelligently crafted policy.

As low as Obama's approval rating is I believe another more responsible candidate could win.

The Republican primary field would be packed if that was true. The non insane do realize that beating a sitting President is no easy task. With all the heat the GOP is getting this recess over their House vote to abolish Medicare, those seriously wanting to run for president will sit out the 2012 cycle and wait for 2016 when the field is clear of a sitting President.

That said, Trump will not run. He is stroking his ego for awhile and getting publicity which he will turn into cash. Sarah demonstrated how it's done. The Donald has done it before. Mark my words: He's not running.

Okay, people.

Mark my words: Trump is not going to run. At the conclusion of his TV series, which will have top ratings, he'll announce it. He is not a viable candidate, and as stupid as he is, he knows that, and so does everybody else.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Have you seen recent polling data? Your opinions aside, there is polling data that show him as the favorite amongst tea party voters. Are you calling tea party members stupid?

Gas prices and the unemployment rate will be the biggest factors in who will be the next president.

I also dont believe he will run. I think this is nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Polls this early mean ####. If they were reliable we would have had presidents Giuliani, President Leiberman and President Jackson (jesse).

Two things The Donald cannot afford: 1) Run and lose in the primaries (which he would) and 2) lay open his financial house of cards (which as a candidate he would be required to). That's all there is to this story. He cannot run, he will not run, he does not intent to run. He wants to make money and needs some publicity to do that. He's getting what he wants. He's been there before, it's nothing new. It's what he does. The sad part is that there is a large portion within the Republican party that actually believes that he will run and that he would make a good President. That is scary.

A good President, "comparatively" speaking.

THis country has seen nothing but decline and broken promises under Obama..... Trump despite his baggage, brings a lot to the table to take the Obama vote away..... should it come down to -one or the other.

Aside from the fact that Trump has no intentions to run for the office, what policies other than "take Iraq's oil" bullshite has Trump discussed thus far that would make anyone think that Trump would make a good President - even comparatively speaking? Based on what he's put out thus far, he's a nutcase.
