Did you actually make the cashiers check out to "USDHS?"

Make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security unless...

Note: Please spell out U.S. Department of Homeland Security; do not use the initials "USDHS" or "DHS."

Just noticed your parenthetical comment.

Yep, wrote it out.." US Department of Homeland Security".

Sent it UPS yesterday. Will arrive Thursday morning.

Went to make copies of both "packets" at the local UPS store. The nice young lady managed to completely screw everything up and I had to return home and take 2 hours to get it back in order. I wanted to kill her...especially after she said "oh, this looks important".

All I can do now is hope the gods smile on me.

Should be just fine.

We're heading back to Thailand this summer after nearly two years for her and three for me. Really looking forward to it.

Tell me about it. I lived there for four years and there was a greater culture shock returning than going over there. At the same time, I appreciate home much more after the experience. She wouldn't mind living there at all, but I want her to receive citizenship first, in case we decide to return to US again for an extended time.

An ideal situation would be part of the year in both places.

My packet has arrived yesterday @ the FBS address in Chicago.

Signed for by CHYBA and left at reception.

I guess now the waiting game begins.
