What's your favorite dog breed?

Our family had an awesome Heinz57. She was brought into my Dad's surgery (he's a vet) to be put down, and he took her home instead... she was so clever and sweet,

However, she died, and when my youngest siblings were born my parents tried to adopt another dog, but no adoption agency would permit them (it can be risky to adopt out to a family with young children). So my Dad, drawing on his expertise, decided flatcoat retrievers would be the best breed.

I miss those flatcoat retrievers so much. I'd probably have to say they're one of my favourite breeds now. They're energetic, ridiculously hairy, hyper and as thick as two short planks. But they are so affectionate.

This photo pretty much sums it up. They're a beautiful breed with gorgeous, thick, glossy fur, and they look...about as idiotic as they are:

They like to swim:

They always want to join in on your fun:

They have no real sense of their size:

They're great with kids and other animals:

I like Weimeraner, much..

Recently I adopted a mixed breed at the pound, seemed to be a terrier. Had much of the same personality as my old dog, an English Manchester Fox Terrier. but was about 3 times faster, could jump twice as high, wasn't scared of any other dogs.

Did some digging, was a French Bull WaWa - now I know why I get some interesting smiles from the fellas.
