Yes, They will need and want to see the final divorce decree if one has been married before. A "certified copy" of the divorce decree is all that is needed. I obtained a couple of "certified copies" from the courthouse where my divorce was finalized., My wife was asked for this when she had her interview. She also had to show the divorce decree when she took the CFO class before she could depart the Philippines. Again, Just send couple of certified copies!!

Good luck!

So you mean to say there is really no need for my fiance to mail me the original divorce decree? The certified copy will be enough?

I think the original copy is the certified copy..It has the states stamp and logo at the bottom.

K-1 mailed March 10

NOA1- March 14th

NOA1-Hardcopy recieved March 18th

NOA2 August 12th

Waiting for NVC to assign case number!..

Ok, I think I got it...so the Original copy or the Final Divorce Decree will be in the courthouse and would never be given to him, and his' is only the certified copy? Thus in case something might happen, for example it will get lost in the mail, he can always request from the courthouse for another one?

As for my experienced I did not have the original copy of my husbands divorce decree. He just scan the original copy, sent it in my email and I printed it. That's what I showed the interviewing officer during my interview and it was fine.
