Having a stroke doesn't preclude him from getting the visa, but if he cannot work, or is elderly, they will look very closely at your financial sponsorship and often require you show proof of his having health insurance for him once in the USA.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

No- hardship must be to the US citizen, not the foreign relative.

Where did you get Private Medical Insurance for a 66 year old with a stroke?
