Hey Everyone,

I'm somewhat confused in terms of the timing of all of this stuff. I know it varies greatly based on country and circumstances, but I was hoping to get a REALLY rough estimate on timing and just the general order of things.

CASE: US citizen (who resides in the US) is applying for mother who lives in Jamaica.

I will list the order of things as I understand it. I welcome any correction or advice you can offer. Again, I know this is merely a estimate (that is if everything goes smoothly).

Actual Info

Sent I-130 - 3/31

Rec'd 1st NOA - 4/6

Guesses

2nd NOA (approval notification) - Perhaps early May

I-864 application and invoice receive - Sometime before end of May

If sent back promptly - approval of I-864 - Before end of June

All info is sent by NVC to Jamaica Embassy and mother gets receipt - June

Mother gets application packet - July

Mother's interview appt - Sept

If approved, mother has how many months before she HAS to leave Jamaica?

Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks Ricardo.

I came across a few threads between you and Chenielle and it was soooo very help (up until you two dissed me and went to private message. lol)

The links you shared with her will prove very helpful in my process. And I cannot believe that her approval of the I-130 only took 35 days! I'm sure that's probably a bit rare but I'm hoping for the same.

Thanks again.

PS: Was everything successful with her mom getting over here? Just curious. I'm hoping so.
