You have a simple case of grassisgreenerontheothersideofthefenceitus.

No, it's true. The propensity for partisan politics within a left/right dichotomy is noticeably more prevalent in the US than the UK.

I somehow doubt it. Were all humans in the end. I see a lot of this from fishdude. Sometimes its about our media other times its out law enforcement. I just think he needs to go back and spend a significant times there so that he can quit it with all this UK is better rubbish.

I spent a significant amount of time in the US. I went there with no preconceptions. That's honestly what i found. You can disagree with that, but unless you too can claim significant experience of living in the two countries in question, you simply don't know what you're talking about.

Neither fishdude nor I have suggested that the British are a more innately rational people.

You can think of it in terms of "better" or "worse" if you like, but really it's just an observation, and one that I can assure you I make free of jingoistic bias.

The point being that you have been away to long. Go back. :D

Seriously though people forget the negatives when they've been away for awhile.

Having spent a significant amount of time abroad, I can tell you that the partisan rancor in the US is far more prevalent than in any other Western countries. That's not to say that there aren't problems with the political process in other Western countries, but the sheer levels of vitriol between both politicians and voters in the US is unmatched anywhere else in the West. That's been my experience anyway.

No what fishdude has suggest that about everything over there is dont better than here. I'm not making this up and frankly it gets old.

If by doing things better refers to "better" then it would be fishdudes observation/grassisgreenerontheothersideofthefenceitus that the UK does a lot of things better.

In all honesty I think love for ones country(yes I said it, go nationalism)has blinded some people here on this forum.

My take on the Italian political system is that the problems aren't partisan divide related, but corruption related.

Yeah - they elected Berlusconi twice. Lot of Italians are none to happy about that.

That's like re-electing Nixon...

And you didnt invite me to help you move. You know I would of loved to help.

Got it so now I know why Rob is laughing to himself like a little kid. So your name is Duncan. Good so I got a name for you and I dont have to refer to whatever profile name you choose for the month.

So even after being back for a year your still holding on to these biased conclusions.
