There are few 4-5 stars hotels across from the Consulate (ie..Sofitel, Continental..) and it won't be reasonably priced.

Don't know your price range but you may want to check out hotels in District 1, something around BenThanh Market. There are lots of reasonable priced hotels, around $500,000-$800,00 vnd/night on the average. A 10 min. taxi drive to the Consulate is around $30-40,000vnd.

Try Hong Vy hotel on Hai Ba Trung st, less than a mile from US Emb, about $20/nite. I was there last month, got a superior rm w/ windows & large 27" lcd TV, clean & the breakfast was great. There is a market down the street, a big park right in front for morning walk. But not that noisy even w/ all that traffics & people. Check it out on Agoda.com.

Personally, i don't see the need to be that close to the consulate. go there in the morning and just wait outside while she's inside. I know many of us have done that. There are people who sell snacks and drinks across the street from the Consulate. There's a pho place down that street and also a mall down that street as well if you need something to do or need to get out of the heat or need to use the restroom.

It's great that you can be there. Good luck, hope everything goes well.

I stayed here several times and always found it clean and friendly Indochine Hotel Down in Q1 near the Opera House. Can be walked to the Consulate or a short cab ride.

hey Logframe,

when did you submit your packet 3 to get the march interview date... and what day is it exactly.. just wanted to know so i can get an estimation of my interview date. thanx a lot

we submitted p3 on about january 13 and our interview is scheduled a month later.

i have a question. our interview is at 9:30am. what time must my fiance' be at the consulate? also, given that her interview is in the morning, is it typical that her interview would actually be on-time?

What is the exact date of your interview? That's funny b/c my fiancee submitted the P3 on Jan 13 and her interview is also in march at 9:30, March 17th to be exact.
