Hello All,

Finally, received NOA2 on January 26th, 2011 mentioning that I130 Approval Notice with the priority date mentioning in the letter. It stated that all the original visa petition sent to Department of State National Visa Center (NVC). On Feb 15th, received a postal mail from NVC consisting of few forms with NVC Case number, AOS processing Fee Bill Invoice with Choice of Address and Agent, mentioning my husband's Name.

For those who got approved, did anyone receive a form, Choice of Address and Agent. If so, can you please advice the next steps, for Petitioner as well as Beneficiary? I do not have a lawyer. How can and where from can we choose an Agent?

Can you please suggest where can we see the status of NVC case number.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Thanks,

Tanvee

Anyone can be the agent of the case but typically you will write the USC information as agent. Check the guide for NVC processing and 99% of your questions will probably be answered. No way of checking NVC case number since they are not like the USCIS. Only way to check is give them a couple of weeks (I suggest giving them 4 weeks) and then you can call for case updates. Congrats on the NOA2

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

Thanks Claudia.

I was wondering there is a status for us to see the visa status. But how do we know which agent to chose and from where?

Visa status is not available with NVC, you must wait for contact from the NVC in order to provide whatever is needed next. See the NVC guide here at Visa Journey, it is very well done and prepares you by telling you what is needed next.

The agent is whoever is filling out the paperwork. My husband listed me as the agent since I was filling out the paperwork, some choose to hire a lawyer and list the lawyer as the agent.

Apologies if I state in a comment that my husband and I have been together for years & years. It's just that I can hardly remember a time when he and I were not together.

Ahhhhhhhhhh!!! We are currently in Administrative Processing with no time-lines to guide us!

My husband is looking at cars in Trinidad for me as his wish has come true! Me a Trini-Wife!

BUT

I will call DoS weekly to check the progress and I will not give up hope.

July of 2011 is the cut off date for us, when I will either start construction on a home here in the US or return to Trinidad to be with my husband.

Study the guides listed in the links below. The key to navigating NVC is to be proactive. Do not wait for them to contact you; call them until you get your case number and IIN and proceed from there. Good luck.

Hello All,

Thank you for the response.

My husband (Beneficiary),who is currently in foreign country, also received the same forms I received. Me as a petitioner only received additional AOS fee Invoice. On the form DS-3032 that my husband (beneficiary) received has 4 choices available, out of which only 2 choices are applicable to us, that i have mentioned below;

1)I appoint ...... as my agent or attorney to receive mail about my application.

2) I do not appoint an agent or an attorney to receive mail about my application.

My question is...Can we chose the 2nd option without selecting an Agent or Attorney and mail the form DS-3032 to NVC center as specified in the forms that my spouse received in foreign country.

My another question is...does he need to send any other forms or just the DS-3032 form only.

Appreciate and thank you for any additional information.

Thanks,

Tanvee

Did you have any problems finding the GUIDE here at VJ? Usually, if using a cell phone for web browsing, most things are ####### here. Get to a PC, Find the Guide and read it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

hi,

on your first question i am advising you to appoint your husband/petitioner as your choice of agent if you don't have an atty.

on the next thing about the DS-3032 you as the applicant will be the one to submit that to the NVC thru e-mail or snail mail..

read on the wiki's here they can help a lot..goodluck..
