CARSON CITY — Sen. Harry Reid on Tuesday called ... prostitution in Nevada ... an impediment to economic development because it discourages businesses from moving here.

“Nevada needs to be known as the first place for innovation and investment – not as the last place where prostitution is still legal,” he said in a speech to the Nevada Legislature.

Reid told the assembled lawmakers that he met recently with a group of business leaders who run data centers for technology companies. They visited Storey County in search of a new location for their businesses but “one of the businessmen in that meeting told me he simply couldn’t believe that one of the biggest businesses in the county he was considering for his new home has legal prostitution.”

He said he has talked to families who “don’t want their children to look out of a school bus and see a brothel.”

"We should do everything we can to make sure the world holds Nevada in the same high regard you and I do," Reid continued. "If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come for us to outlaw prostitution."

"If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work..."

While he's at it he might want to start enforcing immigration and work authorization laws that would put Americans back to work instead of illegal aliens. Then maybe these 'hos could find a job making an honest living on their feet instead of on their backs and knees.

Harry Reid is an clueless and corrupt azzhole.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

It's time for the US to legalize prostitution and smoking pot.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

You got it. Think of all the money that the taxpayer would save if we were to stop pretending to enforce the unenforceable. People want to pay for STD's? Have them. Wanna ** up your brains and body? Go for it. Ain't my damn business.

I hold Nevada in high regard because they allow women the choice to be prostitutes without being criminals.

I would have wrongly guessed Reid to be pro-choice.

Yeah, because outlawing prostitution has worked so incredibly well wherever it was done.

The last person to be making comments about enforcing laws and creating jobs for Americans is Harry Reid.
