Repeated Immunizations

Hello VJ Fam:

Quick question. My husband had to complete a second medical examination. His first was in November and he received the remainder of immunizations that he did not already have. Well, he returned to the same location for the 2nd medical examination and was administered the same shots that he received in November. I know that usually this is not permitted once you can prove that you received the shots and that it in fact can cause illness. My husband said that he just went with the flow because he did not want any further delay with his process. Has anyone experienced this or is this another money making racket? Thanks in advance for your responses.

No doctor in good concussion would have given someone the same shots again if there were proof that the patient had just received them. Giving someone a double dose of an antibiotic or viral could lead to life threatening situation or illness. Therefore the patient should have question why they are being given a second dosage of something they just previously had. If this doctor is part of the panel of doctors that the US embassy use as a referral, they know they are under scrutiny by the US govt as well under their own government. In saying all of this something doesn't sound right, why would a doctor risk his medical license for such a small fee, if the doctor had evidence that a patient had received these shots previously and then to give them again is bad medical practice.

What evidence do you have that your SO had received these same shots within such a small time frame, do you have copies of his shot record?

if you dont mind me asking where did he have his medical exam done, because I would like to make sure that I don't have my fiance to go to him because I don't want to add more time to Jason getting over here if he has to go a second time, I saw that there is one in Montego Bay, which I was going to have him to go.

Not sure of your point, but a patient will not receive the same booster shoot , i.e mmr twice within 30 days apart unless the doctor has evidence that the orginal shot was invalid.

A patient can receive many different types of booster shots within each other, that is why i asked the poster to look at the shot records because I believe the answer is there.

Rich, if your people have a shot record showing that they have had the shots in question, why is this doctor giving them repeat shots. If what you'll are saying then this doctor should be reported to the US state dept UR board. If you search the state dept web site the information listed there on how to report this kind of information.

Well I instructed my parents not to go and get the shorts prior because I spoke with the medical people there and was told they would not accept the shot if it was done say 1-3 months before the interview. They would tell applicants this by phone.

Yes, no doctor in good conscience should. Yes, the doctor is at Montego Bay Hope which is a panel facility. I understand that it doesnt sound right and that is why I posted here. The doctor said to my husband that he did not understand why he had to receive the immunizations again but that he was going to proceed since that is what he was told to do. My husband received the first set at that same location so they had that in his records along with the records that he had with him. Like I said previously, he said he knows that it did not sound right but that he did not wish for further delay. I am waiting for them to provide us with the medical report and then I will be taking the Medical Center ON!!! Thanks for your response. Have a great evening.

Ricardo4eva2..this is crazy because they told my husband not to get any shots within 2 weeks. My aunt is a nurse and she stated that this might be because they don't want adverse reactions but really.....you have to have all of the required shots anyway whether the same day at the medical appointment or within the months before. I guess that the real answer will never stand up. Everything is such a rip off that you don't really know when an action is legitimate or not. Thanks for your response. Have a great evening.
