I find it disturbing when a topic like this has hardly any people acting concerned about the victim and instead making jokes or non-caring comments. People can't even say "wow that is horrible for her". Amby did say that...haven't seen any care from the others replying.

(It's happened with other threads too. We aren't supposed to care about the actual article if it's being used to try to make another poster look wrong or continue an ongoing debate like guns. It's gross to me. Like the recent thread about the mom in FL who killed her kids. Very sad.)

Its a public forum with anoynmous logins, there is a place to air concern but its not particularly worth while here. I find it meaningless when people type some sort of dribble over these stories and throw up one of these silly digital roses (F) in this forum.

I'm not anonymous! Oh wait, I am signed in anonymously, but I am not a nobody with no real name. :P I understand your skepticism for showing concern in this forum, though.

NYU Fellow Nir Rosen Resigns After Making Light of CBS Reporter's Egypt Ordeal

The uprising and protests that have consumed Egypt and the world have grown increasingly chaotic in the past couple weeks. Not only were the people of Egypt in harm's way, but many reporters from America were also harmed during the protests. Even though it seems that the protests are dying down, the fallout from reporters being harmed has not.

Big Government reports that Nir Rosen, a fellow at New York University's Center for Law and Security, resigned from his position today. He resigned after being blasted for what some have called inexcusable comments regarding the sexual assault of CBS News correspondent Lara Logan in Egypt last week. Rosen was ranting about the whole incident on Twitter, but after angry replies, he deleted his comments. National Review was able to find screen captures of what Rosen said via Twitter, including that he "ran out of sympathy" for her and also stated we have to "find the humor in small things."

The condemnation of Rosen reflects a lot of negative attitudes toward sexual assault and rape. People often try to blame the victim in these situations by saying they deserved it or that they should not dress a certain way.

Savages would work too.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
