Hi guys,

I'm thinking about filing my 2010 electronically using efile which is provided by IRS web site. Can I then send this

print out to my wife?

Yes, you are given the option at the end of the process to print your tax forms. As a matter of fact, I would print a few of them just so you will have copies for the future.

As long as you have a printout of the tax form and associated documents (w-2s) you don't need tax transcripts.

if so - eFile isn't available, must send it all in to the special ITIN address in Austin TX.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

but

why not just take the plunge, file marriage filing jointly?

include SIGNED COPIES of what you sent off to the special address in Austin. She'll need to sign the 1040 and the W-7.

For those filing early.. IRS has not yet updated thier system to reflect the adjusted tax laws.. It is anticipated that anyone who itemized deductions or falls into anumber of other categories will not even start to get proccessed or acepted by the IRS until 2/15 or later.. they may be able to complete the processing in a matter of days but they have to accept the filing first... just a heads up... Intuit and similar sites may say you can get a refund from the IRS in as little as 8 days but thats only in limited circumstances at this point..

Just so you know using Intuit I was not able to efile as married filing separately. I don't think that you can efile as married filing jointly if your spouse does not have a SSN/TFN either. That said I mailed in my application on the 12th of Jan and was able to request transcripts on the 2nd of Feb.
