Hi everyone,

I am a US citizen and I want to apply for my parents who are living outside. I want to know if I can file for them together ( send documents for both in one packet) or I must apply separately for each one of them (send a packet for mom, a packet for dad)

Second question is that I know I should start with send I-130. shall I send any other form like I-864 along with this form at the beginning or I-130 by itself. I need to know the sequence of the forms to send.

I am trying to make a quick start and then sit down and read the details, so please help me for the first step to do it asap.

Thanks!star_smile.gif

At the top of the page there is a tab called guides. In the middle of that page about 2/3 of the way down there is a guide for parents of USC. Read that , then ask questions when you have issues.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks, I read it. But I still don't know if I can send for both in one packet or separately.huh.gif

SEPERATE petition for each eligible person. So basically send out 2 different i-130 and those required docs.

Read the instruction of i-130 form. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-130instr.pdf

Filing 2 petitions cost $840 now. You can not run away with filing fees which cost $420 each. Then later the visa fees are $404 each. Plus any extra charges.
