I'll quote myself from earlier in the day, an identical question asked in this very forum! Still showing on the page 1! :)

"It usually takes a week to get initially reviewed, and can take even more. There is nothing you can do now, but to wait. You can watch your bank to see if they cashed the check. If they do, then it means your packet is accepted for review. There is also a chance that you forgot a signature or something, and it will be rejected. In that case they will send the whole thing back to you visa snail mail and they won't take you money. You will address the problem (perhaps something like a missed signature) and then send it all back. Either way, you'll just have to wait and see. Don't panic You'll be fine. "

Also, bear in mind that Chicago just had a huge snowstorm. That will effect mail.

AOS for my husband

Thread moved from AOS from a family based visa to AOS from a work, Student & Tourist Visa forum as OP is adjusting from a tourist visa

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
