Your friend is wrong, if you get married in Vegas, it will be recognized in CA. Furthermore, you have to submit your valid marriage certificate when you apply for AOS. It will not matter that it was issued in the State of Nevada.

CONGRATULATIONS :D

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

All Vegas marriages are good as long as you get the license from the county clerk. They offer a couple of renewal ones that are not good , as they are meant for married people that want a do over of their wedding. They even have a drive through wedding where you don't even have to get out of your car.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Yes, A drive thru... can you just see that now at the Interview... showing the wedding pics of the 2 of you at a drive-up window... wow.... They say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas... anyway, whatever you should decide I wish you many years if wedded bliss and good luck with your Visa Journey!

Actually if you had a cool classic car and where doing a theme wedding maybe it would be cute. I guess it is better for those that are trying to beat the stork and are heading right to the hospital.
