Now we have the core of religious belief in one phrase

'Why do you think one would need eyes to see' ??????

Anyone who can actually think that is logical is set for a lifetime of tithing

Unless these souls operate on echo location like bats - trying to avoid big g's beard as they whiz around 'seeing' by emitting high pitched squeaks

This heaven place sounds less attractive the more I hear

It seems that the crazier and more illogical the concept, the more people sign on for it...

Like we are all 22 and perfect in mind and body - or we are like a cloud of gas with no eyes but we can still see - and people nod and say 'ahh I understand now - thank you - can I give you some money ?'

and we are in heaven for no time but we have to spend 90 years praying like a mantis on acid in order to be something with no eyes which is there for no time and simply adores without a mouth or without any feedback as to whether we are adoring hard enough

You really are narrow minded. Faith is anything but logical.

This is an awesome question, thanks for posting!

I've heard it a million different ways but from what I can tell, a person's "spirit" either gets the pass or it doesn't. The spirit isn't necessarily affected by things like being crazy or getting involved in bad stuff here on earth. It's something between man and god.

I've also heard that god is all that's necessary in heaven such that there's nothing "normal" up there, only god. When someone gets to heaven they're basically enclosed by god and everything else is just details. Things like, "the blind will see" and the "lame will walk" lead me to believe the crazy will be sane but our traditional interpretation of sanity will be replaced with "has god around him" or "walks with god."

The real answer is, who the hell knows.

The simple question to ask is who created God?

We know a few things about Him. He doesn't like apples. He has a son that came out of a human. He doesn't like snakes. He sends the +155,000 people that die each day either to Heaven or Hell. He created light. He showed us His everlasting love (by having humans hammer nails into his sons feet and wrists and hang him there until he died)....All for us!

The last time He was heard or seen was 2,000 years ago when human intelligence was at a 2,000 year low.

Do people believe that we actually have our physical selves in heaven? IQ is irrelevant when you don't have a brain, as is mental illness. Age is irrelevant when you have no body. This is a serious question - I don't think that most people actually think that people walk around in the clouds.

You mean it's not like Care A Lot? :(

You really are narrow minded. Faith is anything but logical.

But, logically, that means that anyone could dream anything up and people would believe it

Like in Papua New Guinea they said that digging up their dead and eating their brains would be a really good idea and make them godlike

Naturally it caught on so it seems that the more outlandish the story, the more it will be believed by those to whom logic is somehow a bad thing

The problem is that there are religious people who are otherwise clever and logical - but they are invariably catholic and therefore brainwashed from the womb and therfeore without the power to carry out dispassionate analysis on the subject

It's an amazing reversal of all human progress to say that a logical person is narrow minded and a person without logic is therefore wider minded and somehow that is better. The breadth of one's mind is of no advantage if it lacks reason. Sometimes a mind that is too broad is unfocused and worse than a similarly proportioned backside.

Your mind will be fixored in heaven.

Patrick Henry didn't like bratwurst. He liked hamburgers.

I think a fair punishment for a bad person would be having to live as a tree on earth.

i think a fair punishment for a bad person would be to make them a good person then make them feel the pain of all your victims and their families for an eternity.

I never said a person without logic is better. You are trying to answer questions of faith using logic and reason, and I think that's an exercise in futility.
