The same happened to us. But we are trying to look on the bright side - at least they have reached our case now!

Hang in there!!

Well that's not necessarily a bad thing and if there was to be a RFE, then it would be when they got to your petition, and as started elsewhere that usually takes around 5 months currently for them to get to your case.

The RFE isn't going to cause huge delays. Looking at the records of others here, an RFE usually delays things by only a couple weeks. Provided of course that you can submit evidence that satisfies their request.

Furthermore, an RFE can be a great opportunity to send in extra evidence in order to build up your case prior to the interview.

At least you know they are working on your file. It is no big deal. Just send in the documents requested ASAP and you would be fine. Before you know it, you would get NOA2. Good luck on your journey.

Thats a good thing kinda. If you didnt get the RFE it would have been a NOA2.

I guess "Working on July 24th" means August petitions -_-

USCIS won't beat us. Nothing make me feel good about RFE except it makes us know what RFE paper looks like.

I would LOVE an RFE. Right now I have Z-E-R-O. At least with an RFE I will get my NOA2 within 60 days. Right now I will be lucky to see it by September.

May I ask what the RFE was for?

They didnt say exactly what is the RFE for. We haven't received the hardcopy yet. We're figuring it out now coz we think we sent the petition properly.

Don't be too discouraged..... We received an RFE after 7 months of waiting. It was a 3-page RFE and we had approx. 45 days in which to reply. I thought it was the end of the world.....I was so frustrated and depressed. But we sent everything back, and they said we would have an update or decision within 60 days, and our petition was approved in 3 weeks:)))

It could also be a very minor thing like a missed signature, or something wasn't filled out, etc. But whatever it is, just get everything back that they ask for quickly and you'll have a decision and hopefully an approval in no time ;) Good luck:)

After 5 months 2 weeks since we got noa1, today they said, we got RFE. Perfect!!!!!!!!

USCIS says. Also, if you send in the information right away once you get the RFE, it usually takes 2-4 weeks (14-28 days) to get your NOA2.

Just be happy someone actually looked at your case.
