If your DS-3025 was completed then it is likely you will not need a I-693. The medical is valid for one year.

However, there have been several stories of "lost" medical forms that were handed in at the POE and never reached USCIS.

If you are lacking any vaccination you will need to get Part 1, Part 2 (the vaccination section only) and part 5 of the I693 completed by a civil surgeon.

You will need vaccinations record transferred to an I-693.

Medical was done in Ankara in October of 2010, plan to file for AOS in a week or so after we get married.

Do we still need to have I-693 filled and certifed by a Civil Surgeon?

Thank you!

Yes strongly advise you to so so. Part 1 and 2 vaccinations only and part 5 is what you need to have filled in by civil surgeon. Even if you have DS- 3025 and if it has incomplete on the bottom of it then you need to have it transcribed over to I-693. Don't want an RFE I am sure.

One note, SHOP AROUND!!! Many US Civil Surgeons like trying to RIP-YOU-OFF with a full medical. Unless your visa medical is more than a year old, you DO-NOT need a full medical, just the vaccinations record.

DS-3025? All vaccines were administered otherwise K1 would not have been issued..Right?

Who has this DS-3025? POE/USCIS? we only have a CD from the Doctor in Ankara that is sealed, the sealed document was turned over to the Embassy in Ankara.

Vaccinations are a requirement of Immigrations and the Green card.

A K-1 is considered to be a NON-Immigrant until they adjust status, so vaccination are NOT a requirement for the visa, they are a requirement for adjustment of status and the Green-card.

Spouses doing IMMIGRANT CR-1 and IR-1 visas because they get green-card upon entry to the USA are required to do vaccinations for their visa.

MORE:

K visa applicants are encouraged to get the vaccinations required under U.S. immigration law for immigrant visa applicants. Although such vaccinations are not required for K visa issuance, they will be required when adjusting status to that of legal permanent resident following your marriage. Applicants are therefore encouraged to fulfill these vaccination requirements at the time of the medical examination. See Vaccination Requirements for IV Applicants for the list of required vaccinations and additional information.

I beg to differ on this one, my wife came to the USA on a K-1 Vaccinations were NOT required for a NON_IMMIGRANT K-1 visa, though the consulate can suggest that they be done, they will not withhold visa or prevent interview for a NON-Immigrant K-Visa without vaccinations.

Again: From Department of state:

K visa applicants are encouraged to get the vaccinations required under U.S. immigration law for immigrant visa applicants. Although such vaccinations are not required for K visa issuance, they will be required when adjusting status to that of legal permanent resident following your marriage. From USCIS form I-693:

I-693_1.png

I-693_2.png

USCIS form I-485:

I-485Vaccinations.png

Now the DS-3025 vaccinations may or may not be in the immigrations packet, in most K-1 cases if this form is completed by the doctor overseas it will be given to the K-1 applicant separately from the medical packed for future use in the USA when adjusting status.

Embassies play their own tunes, DOS' site communication is irrelevant as long as each embassy has a different practice.

They were and absolutely are a requirement for Ankara. No other document was given to us other than the sealed CD..

I would try filing the I-485 without the I-693 and see if you get an RFE for the vaccination record, lets hope they don't RFE.

Hi,

My fiance (now husband) is also Iranian and we had our K-1 interview in Ankara. We also received a CD which we surrended at the POE and my husband did not have a DS-3025 which may have been on the CD.

I also told my husband to get all major vaccinations in Iran (since it's so inexpensive) and he brought an up-to-date yellow vaccinations card to his medical interview and all he needed was another shot which was administered by the Turkish doctor.

We filed our AOS last weekend and did not include the 693 form since I'm pretty sure they have a copy of his vaccination card on file. If we get an RFE for this info, we'll go to a civil surgeon to transcribe his vaccinations on the form - but from reading the instructions, it seems that it was not mandatory since every K-1 in Ankara had to get their medicals done by the Turkish doctor (recommended by the Embassy).

Hope this helps!

It doesn't have to say "complete". The DS-3025 can say" Incomplete may be eligible for blanket waiver", and still be accepted if all the age appropriate or medically appropriate shots are recorded on it. The blanket wiaver is applied to most everybody because there are shots on the list not age appropriate. It could also be granted to somebody who couldn't take a vaccine because they had a proven allergy to an ingredient. That would be "not medically appropriate."

True but I had it all transcribed and had to have a flu shot done as it was beginning season here even though I had had one in Australia. It's no biggie though to get it transcribed over to 693 just a safety measure is what I reckon.
