USCIS can't find case for status updates online

Ok husband tried registering receipt number on USCIS for updates and it says it can't locate it. Anyone else experience this?? Or suggestions please on what we need to do. Thanks!

02/21/99 Hubby entered with F1 student visa D/S

May 2002 He stopped attending school because he couldn't afford it any longer.

03?/2002 USC sibling I-130 petition

02/2009 Met hubby

08/2009 Sibling petition approved but ineligible to adjust status due to overstay

07/10 Married :)

11/22/10 [day 0]- mailed AOS packet!! should be there by noon 11/23/2010

12/3/10 [day 11]- received email/text notification of acceptance from USCIS

12/3/10 hubby surprised me with a trip to Los Angeles for my birthday...no problems :)

12/6/10 [day 14]- received hard copy NOA1 in mail

12/7/10 [day 15]- checks cashed...ouch

12/15/10 [day 23]- rec'd biometrics appt set for Dec. 28th at 10 am! :)

12/28/10 [day 36]- successful biometrics appt

01/27/11 [day 66]- rec'd interview appt set for March 10th at 10 am :)

02/25/11 [day 95]- rec'd EAD

03/10/11 [day 109]- Interview, Green card approved!! :)

Next Step: Removing conditions in 2 years.

Yes, I experienced this! I was told that a lot of people have had this happen but I couldn't find many on VJ...

I called a few times (over the 137 days it took to be approved) and was told that my case was being processed and due to the high number of cases received, not everyone got their case status put online. Interestingly, a few days before I got my NOA2 my case was suddenly online... However, it still says "initial review" even though I'm already approved.

The point is, don't trust the case status site! It's unreliable and doesn't really mean anything anyways. Call the number on your NOA1 at least once to make sure that everything is working for your case. Hope this helps! I was very disappointed I didn't get to check on my case every day but it still got approved in the same time frame as everyone else at CSC so it worked out. :blink:

I-129F package sent: Jul 7th 2010

Package received at CSC: Jul 9th 2010

NOA1: Jul 16th 2010

NOA2: Nov 30th 2010

Packet 4 letter received: Dec 27th 2010

Medical done: Jan 3rd 2011

Interview: Jan 24th 2011 - APPROVED!!

Passport with K-1 visa received: Jan 29th 2011

POE: Feb 2nd 2011 in Houston, TX - cleared without problems :-)

Married!: May 2nd 2011

it happens ALOT my number wasnt put in right away to the system my friends number wasnt either and i got a VJ msg from someone else who just recently got their NOA1 and cant access theirs on the website yet either. Just wait.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Yeah, it's extremely common. Don't worry, that tracker looks exciting but it just sits at acceptance until the end when it goes to approved. Good luck.

2/06/13: APPROVED!

I am actually in the same situation. So i called the number on the uscis web site and asked the customer service person why is my case not found. She said the web site does not work at this time, but she told me they just sent me a letter in the mail yesterday, so i am glad i called.

I would not rely too much on the web site,a lot of people have been complaining about it.

Our 485 didn't show up until after biometrics was done. :)

08.06.2010 - Sent off I-485
08.25.2010 - NOA hard copies received (x4), case status available online: 765, 131, 130.
10.15.2010 - RFE received: need 2 additional photos for AP.
10.18.2010 - RFE response sent certified mail
10.21.2010 - Service request placed for biometrics
10.25.2010 - RFE received per USCIS
10.26.2010 - Text/email received - AP approved!
10.28.2010 - Biometrics appointment received, dated 10/22 - set for 11/19 @ 3:00 PM
11.01.2010 - Successful biometrics walk-in @ 9:45 AM; EAD card sent for production text/email @ 2:47 PM! I-485 case status now available online.
11.04.2010 - Text/Email (2nd) - EAD card sent for production
11.08.2010 - Text/Email (3rd) - EAD approved
11.10.2010 - EAD received
12.11.2010 - Interview letter received - 01.13.11
01.13.2011 - Interview - no decision on the spot
01.24.2011 - Approved! Card production ordered!

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS

11.02.2012 - Mailed I-751 packet to VSC

Another person here who's cases aren't showing up. The AOS finally came up almost a month after NOA, when they transferred it to CSC, but EAD and AP are still not there. :bonk:

I'm the USC petitioner.

Thanks everyone!! It's nice to know we aren't the only ones. Of course I'm not surprised and know that usually it's not accurate anyway...
