Hello to everyone,

I do have a few questions about the Approximate Processing Dates for Common Forms in the Immigration Timelines from the link at the top of the page. At the time of this writing, the page says "Petitions with NOA1 dates as follows are currently being processed: I-129F for K-1 Visa; CSC: July 31, 2010; VSC: August 13, 2010". Since I have filed a K-1 visa for my fiancee with the Vermont Service Center, my interest lies in the latter service center and date.

How accurate are these dates?

Are these dates only estimations since it says "approximate processing date"?

What exactly happens on this date? Does the service center begin looking at my petition on this date or do they approve or request an RFE on this date? Since I hear the term "touched" very often on this site, will my case status reflect the new "touched" status on or around this date?

I really appreciate all the information on this site from all the members who provide their experience and knowledge. Without this site, I think I would be suffering from panic attacks everyday while I am waiting for my NOA2. :) I look forward to the responses.

Thank you,

Sunny

I don't really mean to disappoint you. It doesn't really mean anything, and it is very inaccurate. It keeps changing all the time, not necessary change forward, but backwards too. like you will see it one day saying August 16, then the next day it changes to August 10th for example. So don't really pay too much attention to it. I think it is more accurate to check the Igors list.

I-129F sent July 26 201

Igor's list as you as inaccurate as it solely relies on people updating their processing times and often times this doesn't happen. The most "accurate" and sure thing is to just sit and wait: it happens differently for different people and that's all there is to it. I know it's a hard wait, but we are all in the same boat and eventually it happens!

I noticed on your Timeline you submitted your NOA1 back in July. I submitted mine a month after you in August. My fiancee and I are getting anxious and wondering if the VSC will really take their time and push it to the 5 month time-frame.

I just noticed the correlation between the date on the Immigration Timeline page and the Historical Trends page. The reason why the date goes forward and backward is because VSC slows down and speeds up in the processing for whatever reason. The date is irrelevant since it is a mere calculation backward from the present date, but I would think the processing time is real-time and accurate.
