Approved case requested back by USCIS/DoS

Hi,

A little background: I am a US citizen (born in the US of Colombian parents >40yrs ago) who has been living in Colombia since I was 4 months old. I have been married for 17 years and have 3 kids: 16, 11, and 4 years old. Earlier this year I decided to move to the US but could not bring my wife and kids with me because they didn't get a tourist visa.

I sent their I130 in may and early november I got the NOA2 for my wife but nothing for my kids. I got the NVC package in the mail and when i was going to pay online the system didn't let me. I called them and they told me the USCIS had requested back my wife case for further review...

USCIS does not have anything in their system and they say the case has been approved. I even went to the local office to hear the same. In fact, they told me the only one that can request an approved case back is the DoS and only under very strange circumstances :huh:

Does anybody know what is going on?

The only thing i can think of is so adjudicate the case properly to include your children...

I think a call to the DOS about this and/or your senator's office to try to get some more information. Better to be proactive and make sure it is correcting the error about not including your children than to wait and find out it was something else, or worst case, the case is lost.

As far as i know, his kids already US citizen because of father USC. I dont know if i am wrong. Please correct me.

No seems they are not citizens... They dont have access to traval to the usa (tourist visa).

Though you have posted it 8 years ago, I found the topic and want to know what happened after DOS requested your application back...
