What is the cost of Police Certificate obtained in Lagos Nigeria? And how long did it take to get it?

My husband will be traveling there soon and we are wondering how long he should expect to be in Lagos.

Please share your experience. What you paid? Did you megotiate the fee? How long before you had the certificate in hand? Is there additional cost for 2 copies?

Only experiences from last 4 or 5 months please. Seems anything older than that will be outdated.

Police certs are good for one year. My husband just did his last month and he paid 5,500naira and he was able to get it within two hours. Additional copies will be more cost i'm sure. Feel free to negotiate and get it done at Alagbon close forensic section.

I got mine last month, and i paid N3,000.00 for one copy. If you need 2 copies, expect to pay around N5,000 depending on your negotiating power. Some people pay N2k/copy

I have had to do this 2 or 3 times since i started my visa journey(my initial k1 application was denied), and i have a regular contact whom i call each time. Each time, it took me less than 2hours to get it.

My contact is Inspector Emmanuel:08034091216(guess you may find it useful). If you go there looking like a 'JJC', they will charge you more and they will tell you to come back next day. Be polite, and behave like you have been there before i.e last time i went, i did not even ask for the fee. i was given the certificate, and i just gave the guy N3k. He accepted gladly without questions.

Make sure you go with your Nigerian Passport + 2passport photographs. Good luck.

I just got my police cert back from Nigeia. It has the Police Character certificate stapled to the finger print form.

Do I need to detach and send just the Cert or do I send it to NVC with the fingerprint form?

Thanks in advance for your helpful responses!

I sent the whole thing with all the attachments to the NVC. My case was completed with no RFE's.

Just remember to make copies of all the original docs and send as well.
