Hello VJ members.

Im in the K-1 process so far I still wait for my NOA2 ,but I´m slowly getting togther the froms and information.

MY questions is towards the police certificate. I´m from Germany, wher and how I get that police certificate I know. But on the NVC page it says you have to provide a police certificate from all places you lived longer than 6 month after the age of 16.

I lived all my life in Germany except for 2 years where I was an Au-pair in the US. Do I have to get a police certificate from New Jersey now as well? I read somewhere that if u lived in the the states even longer than 1 year you don´t need one.

Can anybody help me with this issue? Anybody who faced the same problem?

Any help is appiciated

First, if it's another country you have to have lived there TWELVE months to need a police certificate: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/250536-confusion-about-police-certificates/page__view__findpost__p__

You don't need anything for the US because they run their own checks on you and your fiance/e

** moved from "K1 Process & Procedures" to "US Embassy & Consulate" as this is regarding the Police certificate which is a Consulate issue **
