So, after five months of waiting, I finally get a RFE.

I submitted a complete color copy, front to back, of my passport. They're telling me my intinerary was insufficient and that I did not provide a proper passport copy. Which is fine, but I already submmited my boarding pass and the complete color copy, including sticky notes that indicted which pages were stamped with regards to my entry/exit into Holland... they want proof I've been to Germany. I already explained I was on a trip to Holland when I met up with him, so he flew in from Germany to hang out with me. I typed out an explaination why this happened in decent detail.

They want proof I've been to Germany, which I haven't. Is there some sort of stupid immigration rule we have to meet in his country? The only proof we have of him being in Holland are our pictures (again, already submitted) and his ticket, which is dated (I even highlighted it), but they claim it's not dated and we can't use it.

I'm just so angry right now... and slightly unsure what to do. My plan now is to do everything they ask, including adding evidence of our recent visit, add more photos, but I'm afraid I'll get this bullcrap again.

Did you include a photo of HIS passport with the stamp from visiting Holland?

It seems you showed enough evidence of you being in Holland, but you need more evidence that HE was in Holland as well. Do you have flight itineraries that you can add?

The new trip is all well and good but if i remember right you need to have met in the last 2 years "at the time of filing" so even though you've met again (it seems) they won't be able to use it as your proof of having met BEFORE you filed... if that makes sense.

Oh, you betcha! I coped every single receipt, including hotels (most of them showed there were two guests), and all travel tickets. And there is no passport evidence of him; you don't need a passport to travel from Germany to Holland, just your Euro ID or whatever it is called. So the only evidence we had of that was his ticket. Which is dated. I highlighted it for them. They apparently did not see it.

They said flight itineraries are insufficient evidence.

Has anyone suffered this kind of situation before

Never used a car. Used the trains/bus. Provided copies of that.

And provided copies of the boarding passes (both of us) and the luggage receipts.

i'm in the same situation as you. i met my american fiance in italy. i too don't have any passport stamps since i didn't need my passport to travel to italy. i also didn't provide any of my boarding passes since i went to italy by car and when we submited our petition i was still there. we only submited my fiance's boarding passes and passport stamps. so should i expect to receive a RFE too? i hope not. our petition is processed in vermont. i think unfortunately uscis doesn't carefully read all the petitions. keep us posted with your answer to the RFE. Thanks!

i think since you live in Romania , you should have proof tht u and your fiance met in person in italy in the last 2 years,if just your fiance's boarding passes and passport stamps, you will get Rfe for this, because USCIS will have a doubt if you were in italia with your fiance or not, and they will send u rfe for this, i also got rfe for prrof of meeting... u better prepare proof of meeting, just in case if u get rfe, but i hope not :)

My Rfe was

1. proof of meeting within 2 years

2. circumstance of meeting and the last personal met

3. letter intent to marry "i have no clue about this, we sent those letter intent on initial petition..."

My fiance mailed back every documents they listed the next day after he got rfe in the mail, and we got noa2 just the next day after USCIS emailed me about RFERR :)

boarding passes looks good, but it will be better if u have proof of when u came to italy, they are very strict about proof of meeting within last 2 years :)

as long as about pictures, pics are secondary evidence, but my fiance also mailed 8 photos with the rfe and wrote "dates, location, what were we doing on the photos" on the back of each photos, he sent photos too for initial petiion but didnt write about dates, loc, etc...

thanks for the quick reply.

my fiance and i only met one time so that would be the only trip to prove our meeting. i wonder how can i prove when i entered italy by car since there is no border between the EU countries and we don't need passports to travel to any of these countries. uscis should understand these things.

we did write on the back of our pictures our names, date and location.

uhm... how about hotel bills with both of your names ? or copies of ATM Transactions in italy ? if u both used ATM , i think the copies of ATM Transactions will be a good proof tht u both was in a same place :) i just checked what docs my fiance sent , and he sent :

. a letter about our last personal meeting

. a letter describe how we met

. ring receipts "this is not important"

. hotel bills

. 8 photos

. copies of ATM Transactions

. marriage intent letter "both of us"

. INDONESIA PASSPORT VISA "the most imprortant"

u can ask me anything if u need help :)

They want proof you have been together in the same country. They do not care which country. I met Alla in CZ Republic. But I included HER passport stamps as well to show SHE was in CZ Republic when I was.

Repeat everything you already sent and send proof HE was there and a letter explaining it AGAIN. If you have met at any other time PRIOR to filing thew petition, you could provide THAT proof. It only matters that you met At least once within two years of the filing. It does not have to be the first meeting

VERMONT! I Reject Your Reality...and Substitute My Own!

This makes me wonder what is happening to the many documents I and my finance carefully prepared and sent to USCIS. I know they are sitting on a shelf. Hopefully they will fall on the floor and suddenly be lost as happens to so many.

Just do what they ask and hope the USCIS adjudicator has a better day the next time he looks at your file.

we too have a hotel bill but only his name is written on it even though it was a double room. all our receipts belong to him. also could a statement of my brother help? saying that we stayed in his apartment in italy during his visit? because that's what happened actually except one night when we stayed in a hotel. i wish i had thought about this sooner and send it along with the petition. oh well, i hope we won't get any RFE :)
