Hi,

I'm completely new to the forum and to any immigration process :unsure:this is my situation: I'm a legal permanent resident for more than 4 years I will be able to apply for citizenship on Feb 1st of 2011

I recently got married to my girlfriend of 4 years on October 10th, 2010 we got married in La Paz, Bolivia and as many of you know we had to separate :crying: because I have to keep working,I'm an Anti-Money Laundering Analyst at Citibank, I sent my I-130 petition this past Wednesday Nov. 17th to the Chicago lock-box by Express Mail I believe my petition contained enough evidence of our relationship and marriage and every other requirement was met I just want to know when should I expect to hear something from them, at least that they've received it, and what should I expect from here on out, I just want to be with her being separated is the worst, I'm sure a lot of you can relate....THANKS!!!

4 to 6 months

Negative. If you enclosed a form 1145 with your package then you should receive an email or SMS text within a few days after they receive it. This text should include your case number, etc. that you can use to register online with USCIS and track your case. If you didn't then you should just wait for you NOA1 to to should up via USPS withing 2 or 3 weeks. After that, then begins the 4 - 6 month wait prior to approval and forwarding of your package to the NVC.

George

P.S. I sent my package in on 15 November 2010 via FEDEX and they received it in Chicago on 17 November 2010. As of today, I'm still waiting for my email/text. Someone else I know sent theirs in on 12 November and received their email/text on 20 November. I guess we'll see how it goes.
