Hey VJ Family -

Hope you're all doing well and trying to enjoy the holiday season without worrying too much about immigration stuff :)

My husband just got his EAD in the mail this weekend - but they incorrectly listed his birth year as 1986, not 1985! I checked back on the copies of all documents I submitted for his EAD + AOS and nowhere did I make a mistake on his birth year. Seems like it was just a typo on their end..

What should we do? I've set up an InfoPass appt but I'm not sure if that's the appropriate way to go about this.

We welcome your suggestions!

Personally I would just leave it as by the time you get your reprinted one you will have your greencard and it will be worthless. Still an Infopass appointment could help resolve the issue. Also on the sheet that came with the EAD did it not state something about where to report mistakes?

I can't remember, and I don't have the papers here with me, but I thought there was something that you got in the papers along with the card which told you to check it for errors and what to do if you find some. With the EAD, I thought the papers came separately from the card, so keep an eye out for them if you don't have them already.

there was a mistake on my brother in laws g/c so they went to info pass......they were given a form there they wrote a letter stating the problem and that it was the fault of the agency that issues the g/c and sent back the g/c along with a copy of his passport showing the correct date of birth and name. they sent it to the agency ups so that it had to be signed for and they could have receipt this is important.

after they received a letter from the agency showing receipt of the g/c blah blah blah they went back for info appointment and they stamped a new temp g/c into his passport

hope this helps
