Team,

We are in NVC process. Wifey and I are planning a trip to Europe for christmas. She has to apply for a shengen visa, If it gets denied, do you think it can potentially increase chances for AP at her interview ? Do they take into consideration where else an applicant has been denied visa from as long as its not US ? I am expecting if all goes smooth thru NVC the interview to be in Feb. I am getting this thought, that may be I should not do Europe and just chill for a few months -

What do you all think ??

Caliguy, rejection (hope you will get it!) of Schengan visa should not be an issue for U.S IV interview.

Loto

Thanks Loto. Winter is a low season and its cheaper for both of us to fly to europe and meet there instead of me flying all the way out to her.

Excellent guide that you put together on the wiki. Your link does not show up under NVC links.

Also keeping both 864 and Package IV ready, and then as soon as the fee is paid, to print out the bar code sheet and express mail it is a great tip ! I am hoping my payments will get approved fast - hopefully the same day.

I am reading that sending thru fedex is the best option, with before 10.30 delivery.

On Friday I had emailed in the choice of agent after I got the case number. Sent in a hard copy with my case number written in the bar code area today. Hopefully I will get the IIN number next week.

Guess what, I had filed taxes with w-7, well they wanted more ID and its taking forever. I am hoping it will be processed by the time I have to send in my AOS.

Good luck with your interview !! And keep coming back to VJ once u are all done please ! :)

They will find out if the passport has a receive stamp on it but no Visa.

CSC has slowed down, some files are being transferred to TSC. Early in 09, CSC was processing in 4 - 8 weeks !, right when I was getting to apply it slowed down. Starting March they were crawling, sep it got a little better and they are crawling again it seems.

Be patient ! Gather all your documents for NVC stage, read read and do research. Get the Birth Certificate and other doc ready, make sure there are no spelling mistakes the don't match for anyone including her parents.

Meanwhile, use this as an opportunity to travel with your wife. Its cheap to fly from Pak to Malaysia, Thailand, Dubai etc.. so if you are into it try planning that. Then once she/he is here - you can do your snow boarding (Tahoe), hawai, san diego !

But mentally prepare your spouse for a 1 year process. That's what I did and I am cutting it close. My first anniversary is in Dec ! :(

Haha. Yeah kinda super slowed down. My NOA 1 is May 19. I kinda got all NVC ####### and docs in hand. If CSC could jus hurry up and approve my petition. I jus got back from paki land last month and rukhsati is in a cple months. Had jus a nikah ceremony thinkin 10 or so months would be plenty. Im jus trippin as to whats takin so long. My case was touched two weeks ago and again this thrsday and friday. Dont know whats goin on. Been born and raised out here So background check shouldnt be a problem either. Just startin to get really paranoid cuz ppl with NOA1's out in mid june are receivig approvals and I have no clue wat the heck is delaying mine.
