Hi

I mailed our i-129f packet off last saturday via USPS and according to our packet tracking they recieved it at the Texas lockbox on 26th Oct, I included a notification request for an email or text message but so far we have nothing the cheque has not been cashed either. should i be concerned at this point? how long does it usually take for the NOA1?

Thanks

They received mine on October 4th. I got my electronic NOA1 on October 8th, sometimes it takes a little longer. So... Nothing to worry about yet.

There's no need to be worried. It can sometimes take a week to 10 days (working days) to get the NOA1. And, from my own experience, the online/text notification isn't reliable. I didn't get a notification of our NOA2 until after my fiance had already received his visa. You will likely get something soon.

Hon...you have a long wait in store for you. Don't get stressed yet! You can look at other time lines on this site to get a general idea of how long it takes. You also CANNOT look individually at one person or another and think that THEY have THEIRS so you should have yours! Dodi and I are perfect examples. Look at our timelines and see how it went. Sundrop and I are also perfect examples.

Take a deep breath and get ready for the long haul.

Made my own experience just yesterday - I mailed my application 10/13 and got my "paper receipts" aka NOAs yesterday 10/28 with the acknowledgment of them having it received on 10/17. I added the e-mail notification to my package but haven't received any email yet (and don't need it anymore, got the casenumbers now). Prior to this package I had to apply for a replacement I-94 number, for this application I had received an e-mail that I will receive a letter in the mail and it took about another 1 1/2 weeks before I had that envelope in my hands.

So yes, don't worry as of yet, if you don't receiver neither e-mail nor paper receipts within the next week or two - and don't count on the e-mail or text message to arrive first. Good luck with your application !! :)

also, don't hold your breath for any email/text updates or even website updates. they're not very efficient when it comes to these services. but just because the website doesn't update or you don't get notification doesn't mean your case is lost.

truth be told, my K1 app still says awaiting decision and i've had my green card for months.

I honestly think it depends on the person who gets the petition on their desk and workload for the week/day/time of month.

As many said here they haven't gotten their NOA until X days after or a text etc. Some have right after etc.

For me, I got the text 4 days after, and the email at the same time and the NOA1 was done 2/3 days after received it (Received Oct 1 in texas, NOA1 dated Oct. 6, Texted/emailed Oct 7 at 1:31am)

So don't worry if you don't get it right away, you will soon :).

Best bet is to watch your bank account for the check to clear. As soon as it does, take a look at the scanned check image. On the back will be the case number and you can use this on the USCIS to check on the status. It took us about 10 days to get the letter with the case number, but only about 6 or 7 days for the check to post.
