Hello,

I stayed with my soon-to-be husband in ghana this year for 3 months. I am going back to ghana in a couple months. I originally wanted to marry him there and eventually planned on filing I-130 by way of DCF. I just found out that they dont offer DCF in Ghana. I now am thinking of going there, getting married, and then returning to the US to file the I-130. once ive filed it, do u know if it's possible for me to return to Ghana and wait there with him for the lengthy process to be completed?? Or do i have to stay in the US? I appreciate any assistance. Thanks !!

well staying back with your hubby is a good thing but you must consider the application also as you will need to provide some vital document which may slow it down if not responded to ,you may visit him when you have finally get the interview date.imoa i suggest that you file and see it through to the level of getting the interview date .

I suggest you file directly from the states since it appears that you can easily go to Ghana for a visit.I have lived in Ghana before; You must work in an organisation or a student before resident permit is granted. However, due to back log of immigrant interview cases in Ghana at the moment I suggest you file through Nigeria else it will take almost 2years to have an interview in Ghana. If Nigeria allows DCF then it is a better place to do it.Lastly, you must be living and working in the states before you can file,it is also good you get married in Nigeria as to facilitate the easy processing of the case.If you are self-employed which I think you her then keep paying him a visit in btw the filling until he joins you that way, you wont miss each other so much. Hope this helps
