To the mods - please re-dreict this because I am not sure where to post and apologize in advance for that.

long story - will be discharged from bankruptcy in Canada before leaving (didnt want any loose ends)however the trustee doing the bankruptcy says that they will need to file my income tax for 2010 here...will i have to file in u.s as well? That part confuses me...as i will be married i was told that my new hsuabnd will have to claim my income from canada for 2010? If anyone has any insight on this would be most appreciated! Or do i just let them file in canada and my new husband file on his own or...???

please help!

keep them separate as far as I'm concerned..you're not married yet..I think certain things go into effect once you get married that you otherwise can't do with finances until then. The Canadian govt will want 'their' taxes from you, and the US govt will want their taxes from your husband. Ohh, I dunno..that's just my initial thought..I'd call the Can. Fed govt and ask them how it works.
